BIO
Andrei Bok is a photojournalist, born in Russia.
During his studies in the field of Physics at the Department of Experimental Nuclear Physics at the Polytechnic Institute in St. Petersburg, he became passionate about analog photography, working in a student photo lab. After graduating in 2015, he spent seven years working professionally as an actor in the movement theater “People of the Rain.”
In 2020, he returned to photojournalism, viewing it as a tool for exploring the world and human nature, and took a staff photographer position at the media outlet Prufy.rf in his hometown of Ufa. Six months later, after returning to St. Petersburg, he continued as a freelance photojournalist, collaborating with various news publications and agencies.
Today, his primary focus is on the interaction between individuals and the state, human rights issues, and personal stories of those fighting for their rights in Russia. He is developing as a news photographer, documenting events while also working on photo projects that explore social processes in society.
